Ioannis: The painting was part of a series that accompanied a scifi fantasy story that I pitched to Heavy Metal magazine in the early eighties. It then was almost picked up as a comic book series that me and my brother had developed. Unfortunately the comic book company folded before it was published. This particular painting finally made its debut as a cover for then dark metal band WARLORD in 1986 for METAL BLADE records.
